Our journey began in 2018, in Galata -the historic soul of Istanbul -where every corner carries a memory and every street feels like a chapter of an olf story. When we entered the world of hospitality, our goal wasn’t simply to restore a building; we wanted to create a place that truly meant something. A place where guests could sense the rhythm, texture, and spirit of Istanbul the moment they walked inside.
The founders -Mehdi Zaeem, Amirali Zaeem and Bahram Zaeem – came from the world of textiles. For years, they worked with colors, textiles, and materials that each carried a story. That shared sensibility became the foundation of our approach to hospitality. And when we personally oversaw the transformation of our very first buildings, we knew we weren’t just
restoring a property; we were shaping a place with character and soul. We were fortunate to partner with Celal Dogan, whose expertise in operations and brand development was instrumental in shaping our vision.
Our first flagship, DorukPalas Hotel, wasn’t defined by its size or luxury, but by the genuine welcome every guest received. This heartfelt approach led to exceptional reviews, organic international recognition, and, most importantly, guests who returned and recommended us.
Growing With Intention
Our growth has been mindful and deliberate:
• In 2021, Union Hotel Port opened under Celal Dogan’s leadership, quicky becoming known as “ a home in Istanbul” for its warm service and
sense of community.
• Around the same time, DorukPalas was entrusted to Ahmet Tikir, a seasoned tourism professional, who enhanced its standards while cherishing its original soul.
• In 2022, Union Hotel Karakoy opened its doors, designed to honor the area’s rich history with contemporary comfort.
• In 2023, we renovated an adjacent building, expanding our capacity with the same dedication.
• By 2025, Union Hotel Platinn joined our family, also managed by Ahmet Tikir, embodying our core philosophy of meticulous attention to detail, genuine service, and profound respect for our guests.
